Soil Order-Land Use Index Using Field-Satellite Spectroradiometry in the Ecuadorian Andean Territory for Modeling Soil Quality

Land use conversion is the main cause for soil degradation, influencing sustainability of agricultural activities in Ecuadorian Andean region. The possibility to identify quality based on spectral properties allows remote sensing methods offer an alternative form monitoring environment. This study used laboratory spectroscopy and multi-spectral images (Sentinel 2) with environmental covariates (physicochemical parameters) find affordable method that can be present spatial prediction models as a tool evaluation soils. were developed using statistical techniques logistic regression linear discriminant analysis generate index order three indexes combination land use. combined approach offers effective method, relative traditional methods, derive estimates content composition constituents, such electrical conductivity (CE), organic matter (OM), pH, moisture (HU). For Mollisol index.3 Páramo use, value (OM) ≥8.6% was obtained, whereas index.4 Shrub OM ≥6.1%.
